Financial Support for International Students

Financial terms of participation in an exchange programme are determined by an agreement between TSU and partner university. But common practice is that education at the host institution is free if the total number of students exchanged is balanced. The cost of transport, medical insurance, accommodation and food must be paid for by the students, although this does not preclude applications for grants or aid of different kinds.

Tomsk State University allocates grants to support international students. Funds of the grant may be used only for payment of return ticket from home to TSU, accommodation during the period of education at TSU, and medical insurance. All terms of TSU International Students Grant allocation you can find on the International Division website in the Grants for International Students section.

 NOTE!
  • The target flow of funds must be confirmed by documents in their original.
  • According to the RF Legislation, the grant is an income and subject to taxation. Non-residents of the RF living in Russia not more than 183 days per year must pay 30% of the grant in tax. Residents of RF living in Russia more than 183 days must pay 13%.
