Objectives: 
- Creation of a holistic view of the soil as a natural-historical body (structure, origin and development);
- Study of physical and geographical concepts, models and laws that describe the "mechanisms" of soil cover differentiation;
- Identification of the factors that control the formation of soil types and their location in the composition of soil cover in various natural zones of the Earth.
 
Learning Outcomes:
- to master the subject and the main objectives of soil geography and, more broadly, the basis of soil science;
- to provide an overview of the basic laws of geography, zonal patterns of distribution and organization of soil cover of the Earth;
- to consider issues related to the genesis and evolution of soils characteristic of specific areas, as well as soil-geographical zoning;
- to consider issues related to the characterization of the soil cover, based on the geography of soil-forming processes and information on the physico-geographical features of the regions.
