The objective of the program is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical education for specialists in the field of translation and interpreting. Education of such specialists is relevant to the increased requirements for the implementation of intercultural communication in different spheres of social, political and academic life. The development and implementation of this program offers a chance for a more task-oriented education of professionals, for closer and more conscious contact between the university and our city’s translation companies.
Among the program’s disciplines are General Linguistics and History of Linguistic Studies, Corpus linguistics, Language and Intercultural Communication, Cognitive and Discourse Analysis of Texts, Acmeology and Personal Development, Academic Writing, Translation of Business Documents, Simultaneous Interpretation and others.
The teaching staff includes 4 Doctors of Science and 7 Candidates of Science.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages has all the necessary facilities at its disposal, including 2 multimedia classrooms, a simultaneous interpreting center, cognitive studies laboratory and resource center, which is designed for students’ independent work with a rich collection of educational, academic and cultural studies literature.
